St. Benedict, in his lifetime, led many miracles using the power of the Holy Cross, including his heroic fight agaibst temptation and miracullus escapes vs traps set to take his life. He was imbued by God to have power of Evil and the Devil with the Holy Cross as his instrument. The St. BENEDICT MEDAL (or Jubilee medal), first made in 1880, draws from this tradition. It was first made in the Abbey of Monte Cassino, an important monastery established by St. Benedict in the 6th century.
In the front of the medal you will see a chalice and a raven beside the saint. It says 'Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti'- the cross of St. Benedict. It weighs 20.5gms.
It is, in Catholic traditions, a very powerful medal for spiritual protection. Considered a SACRAMENTAL by the Catholic church, it is a medal that prepares the wearer to recieve the fruit of sacraments and sanctify the varied circumstances in our lives.
We hope that this medal will bring you the protection of God through the intercession of St. Benedict. Thank you for viewing our product. God's Blessings and Mercy to you, always.

St. Benedict Engraved Medal
The inscription is in French, "O Marie concue sans peche priez pour nous qui avons recours a vous" which means “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” This translates to "Regina Sine Labe Originali Concepta O.P.N." in Latin. OPN means Ora Pro Nobis or Pray for Us.
